DERMAL FILLERS FAQ's

How long do Dermal Fillers last?

Dermal Fillers vary in their ingredients and their properties, some fillers can last between 6 -  12 months whereas others can last for years. Most dermal fillers contain Hyaluronic Acid which is naturally found in your body. This natural ingredient helps with the production of elastin and collagen. Very occasionally with some individuals due to the way their bodies work, fillers can last a few months, this is not very common however it is possible for this to happen.

Are dermal fillers better than botox?

Dermal fIllers and Botox work in different ways, neither is better than the other as they both work in different ways. Dermal fillers provide volume in area's of your face to enhance and contour in comparison to Botox which relaxes your muscles, reducing the appearance of fine lines or aiming to stop certain facial expressions from happening. Generally dermal fillers last longer than Botox however everyone is different, the length of time both treatments last depends on your body.

What happens when filler dissolves?

Fillers once injected, stretch your skin ever so slightly to provide space for the filler. If you have sagging or loose skin, the skin won't get stretch as such, as the skin is already stretch which allows room for the filler to be injected. In most instances, once the filler leaves your body, your skin will return back to normal, your face will return to the way it was prior to the treatment.

Is it worth getting dermal fillers?

Fillers are a great way of rejuvenating your skin, enhancing features and providing shape and volume in targeted areas. This can also results in less visible wrinkles and lines and hydrating your skin.

Are dermal fillers painful?

There are certain areas of your face which are more sensitive than others, due to this we do apply numbing cream to these areas to help you with the pain. These area's are generally around the mouth area. Other areas of the face when injected, inevitably will feel uncomfortable due to the needle being injected but should not be painful. Depending on which treatments you are having done, these can vary between 20-40 minutes, usually the treatments where numbing cream requires more time.
