What is Profhilo?

Profhilo® is a "beneath the skin" hyaluronic acid treatment made with patented NAHYCO® technology, creating a unique injectable gel with prolonged stimulating activity on the dermal cells. When injected, it works to counteract skin laxity and help restore firmness.

With one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid on the market, Profhilo not only hydrates but also helps remodel ageing, sagging tissue. The most common areas are the face and neck, and it can also be used on the décolletage, hands, arms, knees and abdomen to treat skin laxity. It's suitable for men and women, and offers skin benefits across a wide range of ages.

It's a two-step course over four weeks, with Profhilo injected at specific "bio-aesthetic points" for optimal distribution and revitalised-feeling skin.

How It Works

Not a filler — a skin remodeller

Ultra-pure hyaluronic acid is precisely injected into the area being treated. Unlike wrinkle-reducing and dermal filler treatments, Profhilo® stimulates collagen and elastin and attracts water in the deeper layers of the skin.

As a stabilised product, its activity on dermal cells lasts longer than a non-stabilised gel. Over this time, the slow release of hyaluronic acid stimulates four different types of collagen and elastin — giving significant tissue improvement, with a tightening and lifting effect rather than simply filling lines.

The Process

Your Profhilo treatment, step by step

Choose music or a silent, relaxing treatment.
Numbing cream is applied to certain areas.
We cleanse and mark up your skin to map the bio-aesthetic points.
Profhilo is injected directly into the marked points.
Glowing skin — with results building over the following weeks.

What to Expect

On the day

We apply numbing cream to sensitive areas, then mark up your skin. Once the points are identified, Profhilo is injected directly into the skin or body. As a final step, an adhesive patch keeps the area clean and dry, away from products, for the next 24 hours.

You may notice some redness or stinging at the injection points, which settles quickly.

How to prepare

If able to, stop medication that increases bleeding risk (e.g. aspirin, fish oil, ibuprofen) 7 days before — never stop medication advised for a medical reason.
Avoid active skincare (retinol, AHAs/BHAs) for 2 days before.
Avoid heavy exercise for 24 hours before your appointment.
Avoid heavy alcohol for 24 hours before.

Who shouldn't have Profhilo

Profhilo isn't suitable if any of the following apply. If unsure, please ask during your consultation:

A history of abnormal skin scarring, or extra colouring in your scars
Skin conditions or medications that make your skin more sensitive
Being unable to stay out of the sun during the healing period
Active cold sores or open lesions
Pregnancy or breastfeeding
Untreated diabetes or autoimmune disease
Aspirin allergy
Any suspicious lesions or active skin cancers
Dermatitis
Any recent burn (sun or otherwise)
Use of prescription Accutane within the last 6 months
Any recent facial surgery

Profhilo — your questions answered

Profhilo works by injecting hyaluronic acid at strategic points on the face or body. It releases slowly, hydrating the skin and stimulating collagen and elastin to improve tone, texture and the appearance of fine lines.

Unlike traditional fillers, Profhilo doesn't just fill wrinkles — it's designed to remodel the skin over a broader area, improving texture, elasticity and hydration. Its high concentration of HA releases slowly for long-lasting effects.

Typically two initial treatments around a month apart. After that, maintenance sessions roughly every six months can help sustain results.

Profhilo is most commonly used on the face, and can also be effective on the neck, décolletage, hands and upper arms.

There is minimal downtime. Some clients may notice slight bruising or swelling at the injection points, which usually resolves quickly.

Results can be seen within a few days, with optimal results usually noticeable around four weeks after the second treatment.
