What to expect

A chemical peel is quick, and results can be seen quickly. We cleanse your face thoroughly, then apply a TCA chemical peel that lifts away old, dead layers to reveal newer, healthier skin below. After the right amount of time, a toner neutralises the solution for your safety and comfort.

You may feel a tingling or warming sensation during the treatment. Afterwards, lighter peels may cause minor redness and flaking; deeper peels can cause more pronounced redness and peeling for several days.

How to prepare

Avoid exfoliating your skin for a week before your appointment.
Avoid over-the-counter anti-inflammatories such as ibuprofen for 48 hours beforehand.
Avoid tretinoin (Retin-A), retinol, retinoids, glycolic acid or other anti-ageing products.
Avoid any hair removal in the treatment area for 24 hours before.
Avoid using any other chemical peels for a week before your treatment.

Who shouldn't have a peel

A chemical peel isn't suitable if any of the following apply. If unsure, please ask during your consultation:

A history of abnormal skin scarring, or extra colouring in your scars
Skin conditions or medications that make your skin more sensitive
Being unable to stay out of the sun during the healing period
Active cold sores or open lesions
Pregnancy or breastfeeding
Untreated diabetes or autoimmune diseases
Aspirin allergy
Any suspicious lesions or active skin cancers
Dermatitis
Any recent burn (sun or otherwise)
Use of prescription Accutane within the last 6 months
Any recent facial surgery
