What is dermaplaning, and how does it work?
Dermaplaning uses a sharp, sterile blade held at a 45-degree angle and drawn gently across the skin to remove dead skin, peach fuzz and fine baby hairs — leaving your face looking healthier and glowing.
It's painless and quick. You may feel some tingling during the treatment, but no pain. We often follow dermaplaning with a chemical peel, so dead skin cells are sloughed away to reveal smoother, brighter, younger-looking skin underneath.

On the day
Dermaplaning is painless and carried out in a short time. You may feel some tingling during your treatment, but no pain. We often follow with a chemical peel to reveal smoother, brighter, younger-looking skin.
Afterwards your skin will be more receptive, so it may be a little more sensitive to products — and sun protection is important to shield the fresh layer of skin from UV.

How to prepare
- Let us know about any prescribed or non-prescribed medication you're taking.
- Avoid tretinoin (Retin-A), retinol, retinoids, glycolic acid or other anti-ageing products.
- Avoid any hair removal in the treatment area for a week before.
- Please don't attend if you have any open wounds.
Who shouldn't have dermaplaning
We won't be able to offer dermaplaning if any of the following apply:
- A tan or sunburn
- Active acne
- A flaring rosacea breakout
- An inflammatory skin condition such as eczema or psoriasis
