Smoother, firmer, more radiant skin with microneedling — collagen induction therapy at our Jewellery Quarter clinic, tailored to your skin and suitable for face and body.
Microneedling at The Glam Fairies
Welcome to an ethical, professional and supportive aesthetic clinic in the heart of Birmingham, where we look after your skin rejuvenation from start to finish. Each treatment is tailored to work with your skin's natural healing process, leaving you with glowing skin.
We use an electric microneedling pen with adjustable needle depth, so it can be used on the body as well as the face. We start with a numbing cream so the treatment is comfortable — at most you may feel a little pressure. Tiny micro-channels let your chosen serum absorb deeply, prompting new collagen and skin tissue repair for skin that's more toned, firmer and smoother, with reduced fine lines and wrinkles.
Downtime is minimal — usually around 24 hours for any redness to settle. A course of treatments gives the best results, which is normal for microneedling.

What is microneedling?
Microneedling — also known as collagen induction therapy — is an industry gold standard for skin concerns like hyperpigmentation and acne scarring. Creating microscopic channels lets a tailored serum penetrate deeply and kick-starts your skin's natural healing, producing more collagen and elastin.
The result is smoother skin with improved tone and firmness, diminished signs of ageing and a reduction in other skin concerns. We use a pen with 12 micro-needles across the area being treated, creating hundreds of tiny micro-channels in minutes that prompt the skin to repair itself.

Before & after your treatment
What to expect
A numbing cream is applied before treatment to prevent pain, though you may feel some discomfort — this is normal. We work in small sections across the area being treated.
Your skin is usually glowing right after. Within 24 hours the redness reduces, and with a course of treatments you'll see longer-term effects such as increased collagen and firmer, smoother, revitalised skin.

Microneedling — your questions answered
Is the treatment safe?
Yes — when performed by a trained, skilled professional, microneedling is considered safe for most people in good general health.
Does the treatment hurt?
A topical numbing cream is applied beforehand to minimise discomfort. Most clients report only slight pressure or a mild prickling sensation.
How long does a session take?
A session typically takes about 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the area being treated.
Can microneedling help with acne scars?
Yes — microneedling is known to be effective at reducing the appearance of acne scars.
Are there any side effects?
Common side effects include redness, swelling and mild irritation, similar to a mild sunburn. These typically subside within a few days.
How long until I see results?
You may notice an immediate glow, with visible changes developing over several weeks. Results can keep improving for up to six months as collagen production continues.
