Platelet-rich plasma (PRP)

PRP also known as platelet-rich plasma, is found in your blood. Plasma is the liquid part of your blood, mostly consisting of water and proteins, providing a channel for the red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets and allows these to be transported through your body. Platelets are essential for your body’s natural healing process.

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy can be done in various ways and in several aspects of your body: this process consists of drawing a few vials of your blood, running this through a centrifuge to separate your blood from the plasma and then using the plasma to accelerate healing in other parts of your body. PRP can be done through the use of needles, allowing the plasma to be injected into your scalp for hair growth or around your body to target specific areas such as under eye dark circles. Through injecting plasma back into your skin releases growth factors that increase the healing process that your body naturally produces as well as stimulating growth factors!
